“I look back on the years of playing football in the Principia College Football Program as the most important aspect of my experience during that time of my life.  And it had to do with the combination of coaches, fellow players, and the school itself providing a challenging endeavor with the constant element of Christian Science as a basis for the development of manhood.  No other place on earth could provide that experience.  I’m extremely grateful I got to participate.”

Playing football with this man was truly “old school”.  “We didn’t have any leather for footballs back in those days, so we just chiseled them out of whatever rocks we found lying around the school yard.  Punting and kick-offs were pretty tough after Fred broke his foot in 13 places, and screen passes were really the best we could do since the only guy we could find to throw the ball was our track & field shot-putter, so we mainly focused on the running game.”

Here we find Ron hard at work, doing what he does best, practicing everything he ever learned from the Principia College Football Program.

Go, Ron!  GO!!!

“I believe that my experiences in the Principia College Football Program, and the critical lessons I learned from those experiences, play a vital role in my present-day life… in my activities & thought processes… giving me the tenacity to overcome whatever hurdles in life I may encounter.  Principia College Football gave me significant opportunities to overcome challenges that would otherwise have not been presented to me, giving me the opportunity to learn how to overcome those challenges in a controlled setting with top-notch Christian Science support all around me.  Had it not been for the Principia College Football Program, it’s quite likely I would have graduated Principia College not nearly as prepared to live life in the real world as a Christian Scientist.  I would not be the man I am today had there not been a Principia College Football Program.

“As a student of Coach James Crafton in four years of Principia College Football, I will subscribe to any organization that updates me on the Principia College Football Program. I spent one season on Coach Crafton’s staff and as Assistant Dean of Men to Allan Brooks.  I truly believe it will hurt any young man from reaching his potential if football is not offered to them in their college experience”.
